CAREGIVER SUPPORT SERVICES

Caring for a loved one can be rewarding but also difficult and frustrating at times. Many caregivers may not know where to turn for help. The Council provides support, assistance and information to people caring for an adult age 60 or older. We also provide limited support to people age 60 and older who are the primary caregivers for children under the age of 18.

The types of help we offer includes:
• Assistance to assess needs and identify options
• Information about community resources and local programs
• Accessing respite care
• Caregiver lending library
• Caregiver newsletter.

CAREGIVER TIP OF THE DAY

Give yourself credit not guilt. You're only human. Occasionally, you may lose patience and at times, be unable to provide all of the care the way you'd like. Remember, you're doing the best you can, so give yourself credit. Being a devoted caregiver is not something to feel guilty about. Your loved one needs you and you are there. That's something to be proud of. And if your loved one could-they'd thank you.
